I just purchased a p-32 today and was wanting to know if anyone has any experience with Speer Gold Dot?

I've had good luck with Gold Dots. Silvertips seem to work well for most everyone also.

Good to see a fellow Austinite on here. Yeah, spent the day down at Reds and picked the P-32 up.

When/if you get another gun, go to "Cost + 10%" on Burnet LANE (not Road) behind the Academy Sporting Goods on Burnet Road. It is in the yellow pages under Guns.

It is a small shop but he can order for you what he doesn't have in stock which is very limited. I was there last week & he had a parkerized P-32 for $219, blue ones are even cheaper. He usually has some Glocks, KTs & revolvers.

Ammo prices are good too. I usually shoot at Cooks, a little bit closer to me.

So far, I've not had a single failure with golddots in my p32.

Gold Dots work fine most of the time but, because they are shorter in length than FMJ rounds, they can bounce in the magazine causing a jam("rimlock"). Therefore I only use FMJ ammo, like Fiocchi, for virtually 100% reliability.

I've put over 500 rounds through mine. I read somewhere that the Gold Dot's ballistics replicate the SilverTip's.

Stay safe y'all.

I have chronographed a good many 32 loads. I first need to say that you WILL get variation from lot to lot. That being said, the slowest 32 round that I have clocked is the Silvertip at about 780fps. The Gold Dots were around 840fps. HydraShoks were about 830fps. UMC 71gr FMJ was about 875. The HOTTEST round that I have tried is the Fiocchi 60gr. hp. at about 980fps. I am quoting from memory, but I am sure that I am pretty close.

Gold Dots are good. For some reason, Winchester changed the .32ACP Silvertip a little and it caused my Seecamp to "keyhole". Larry Seecamp told me to try Gold Dots before I sent it back to the factory. Gold Dots cured the "keholing" problem immediately!
My P-32 shoots Silvertips just fine, but of the two, I prefer the Gold Dots over the Silvertips because of this little keyholing incident in my Seecamp. Also, I've measured the GD's with my calipers. The "OAL" is much more consistant with GD's. There was quite a variation in the Silvertips.
