To the guys who have picked one over the other: Are you happy with your decision? Has either finish flaked off or discolored in places? If you had it to do over, would you make the same choice?

Thanks,
Will

KR,

I have a Jack Fuselier nickel plated P-32 & a chrome one. Never had a problem with either one. Don't know which I like better. The chrome is brighter & shinyer than the nickel. Both finishes have been durable and rust resistant.
If you bought a blue P-32, one advantage of having Jack do it is that he nickel plates your slide vs. KT exchanging it for chrome one. If your blue P-32 is reliable, there is a chance it may not work as well when the slide is exchanged (of course, it could work better!). Jack also fluff & buffs your slide for you with his expert touch. I have a "Jacked" P-11 also. He does great work. http://www.gunsmith.fuselier.com
Go to the link "KTOGERS click here for slide plating.

I think you need to get a nickel plated P-32 to go with your chrome one.

I posted earlier on this subject, but Jack Fuselier did his nickel plating on my gun and I am very satisfied. He will also fluff & buff the gun, which I had done. So far, I've had no problems and enjoy shooting the P-32 nearly as much as my Kimber .45 gold match. Too bad .32 auto ammo is a bit expensive, or I'd shoot it even more!

New guy here; not yet a P-32 owner, though. I hang out at the GlockTalk and Firing Line sites, also.

Regarding the finish on the P-32: A dealer in the Twin Cities (The Gun Stop, in Excelsior) had a P-32 with the black Parkerized finish. The price is a bit higher ($245) for it. Would this model be less susceptible to corrosion?

Parkerized is supposed to be more rust resistant than blue. I couldn't really tell you how much more. If rust is a concern & you don't mind the silver slide, get the chrome or have it nickeled. I know that chrome or nickel is much more resistant than blue or parkerized.

JonB,
I talked to the smith's at Kel-Tec. They told me they did a little test. They put the three variations of the slides in a bucket of water for a week. (I don't know if it was salt or fresh.) At the end of the week, the blue and the parkerized slides had rusted badly. The hard chrome slide had not rusted. This is what made up my mind which one to get.
