Last nite just before turning in, while eyeballing my new little buddy, I noticed that I can see some of the casing of the chambered round just in front of the ejector. There's a small gap ( about 3/64" ) between the slide and the barrel end. On the opposite side the gap may be about 1/64". Has anyone else noticed this? My P-11 doesn't have gaps in these areas. Looking for feedback, Mike

Don't worry, Mike. That's just the "Chamber Loaded Indicator".

Mike,

I used to be a software developer. When we would discover a programming anomaly, we would just document it in the User's Guide and call it a feature. What you have is an issue with terminology. This is not a GAP, (Generally Accepted Problem). It is a SPACE, Safety Portal for Ammunition Check Evaluations. <G> The SPACE allows for visually determining that a round is in the chamber without moving the slide. This capability is required for new handgun sales in an increasing number of states. :D

Thanks guys for the info. Very interesting and helpful. I must have missed it in the manual. You know, I thought of "the loaded chamber indicator", but would have never thought of a "space". Thank the Lord it's not a "gap". Thanks again, Mike

Mike, I noticed that as well. I don't think it is mentioned in the manual. I asked the guys here about it for fear of having an "unsupported chamber". I was informed that it is a "feature" as stated above for checking a loaded chamber. People have stated here that the chamber pressures for a .32acp are not enough to cause any problems. It's all good.

Slugger, I couldn't find it in the manual either. IMO it is a very worthwhile feature and a lot better than some RED pin sticking up or out somewhere noting a loaded chamber. On chamber pressures; the hottest round I have and have shot a few of is 60gr.Cor-bon, but I'm packing Mag-Tech 71gr.FMC which runs very well. Thanks for your reply, Mike
