I just sent my P32 back to Keltec. I am having the slide lock open with rounds still in the magazine. I sanded down the slide stop actuator but the problem continues. I also have failure to extract the empty case since I upgraded to a chrome slide. My questions are how long do they usually take to repair a gun and how good are they at fixing problems the first time? $26.00 each trip via Fedex to Keltec can add up fast. ------------------ |

Turn around is usually very quick, just a few days if that. I agree that shipping is an issue. I think they should pick it up for the round trip for repairs, at least in the first year or so , I've paid for three shippings for repairs so far. ------------------ |

Moe, did you have to send your P32 back 3 times because they didn't fix it right the first two times or did you have multiple problems? ------------------ |

tngunlvr, the first repair was practically a replacement, they replaced virtually every thing but the serial # , and the problem was not fixed. They then sent a completely new gun and it developed a different problem, which damaged the gun and it too was replaced. I am now on number four. I had to pay shipping for each return,( not to mention wasted range fees and ammo trying to break in defective guns.) I do think that this made a relatively inexpensive gun not so inexpensive anymore, but more important than expense was the frustration and now the doubts about reliability. ------------------ |

Lots of people on this board talk about how fast and wonderful the Kel-Tech service is. I have a P-32, blue, that I have several hundred rounds thru, with no problems. Guess I'm just lucky. My point is,it doesn't matter how great thier service is, its thier quality control that sucks. Why should shooters have to send back gun after gun, most which are new out of the box for repair. Makes me think I will just keep my P-32 and not take a chance on another Kel-Tec. ------------------ |

Well...I guess I can only go with my own experience here. However, my P-32 was one with the ser # in the mid-7000's. I called KT service to see if I needed anything "upgraded". They said, "Yes, the recoil spring". I decided that a gray grip frame assy would look good with my chrome top end, and asked them to do that for me. I sent the pistol via UPS overnight air on a wednesday. I received my P-32 back on friday of the same week. (SAME WEEK!!!) It not only had the gray grips (I was right, it looks beautiful with the chrome.), but also has the new and heavier recoil spring, a new magazine, and all "internals" had been replaced. I called the gunsmith (Carolyn) to thank her, and she told me that she had shot six mags of various ammo through my pistol to be sure of function. The pistol even came back clean!! I was flabbergasted to have all this done between wednesday and friday! Will |

I posted a reply to this same question on the P-40 board under the thread "Going to buy a P-40!" ------------------ |
