I just picked up a Guns and Ammo 2001 Handgun annual in the market. While there were some positive comments, the overwhelming impression was one of poor design and quality resulting in a large number of misfeeds. The reviewer wouldn't even consider using p-32 for self defense without modifications. In spite of this ,he said it would be his gun of choice in a small gun, but only if the problems he described were addressed.Kind of how I have felt- it would be a great gun if only it worked, and I really do want it to work. I am currently on my 4th gun, and still hopefull. This one hasn't failed yet , but i have shot less than 150 rounds with it.

Moe,
The Guns and Ammo 2001 edition was probably written in 1999! The only gun mag I subscribe to now is Combat Handguns. I've given up on the rest for various reasons. Have you had three 32's that didn't function? Did you send them back to KT?

Yes I'm on #4. Can't complain about the turn around which was very quick. But the wasted ammo, the range fees, the considerable shipping expenses, did add up. And, after the first or even second time, I should have been sent a flawless, bombproof , reliable gun. ( I would really settle for one that simply functioned.) It is now hard to trust a p-32 for personal protection.Never ever had a misfire with my Glock or walther, I would think that kel tec could do better with quality control. You shouldn't have to be"lucky" to get a reliable gun.

I just had a read of an excellent review in Combat handguns on the P-32. Although I do not own one I cannot speak about the little gun ,however I do own a p-40 and p-11 and a .357 conversion for the p-40, I have never had any problems with these guns. Hope you have seen the last of your problems

Dave.

My P-32 has about 1500 rounds through it and it functions perfectly. I have the hard chrome upgrade and use only FMJ rounds (like Fiocchi). I found that JHP rounds have occasional "rim lock" because of their shorter length so I stick with FMJ for total reliability. The P-32 and P-11 are fantastic, reliable & accurate guns.

I'm lucky, but I have a very early P32 and with over 500 rounds down the bore, no problems.

I did realize early on that the trigger could be short stroked and that caused a light strike on the primer. Since then I have adjusted my trigger stroke. You can learn more about this problem from previous posts to the discussion board.

I hope you have continued luck with the fourth iteration of your P32. I carry mine without fear of failure.

The first two missfired badly regardless of what I did or what ammo was used. The hammer at times seemed to hang up or get caught, then fall, usually misfiring, but once hung up for at least a second then fired.Scary. Also at times you could keep pulling the trigger, like a double action revolver, without firing. The third gun worked well until a pin on the slide slipped, gouging the frame before I figured out what was happening, and causing failures to feed, and ultimately jamming the slide. This last one has worked so far , but not enough rounds through it to be sure (less than 150). I'm trying to think good thoughts, but it is hard to trust a gun with this history.Very nice and accomidating service dept, but I do wish they had sent me a reliable gun after the first failure.

D. Grant,

Was that a new issue of Combat Handguns that the review was in or an old one?
Thanks.

Perhaps I was lucky. The P-32 I got had a couple of misfeeds (where the slide didn`t go fully forward after firing)with the first magazine or so then smoothed out with no problems since. I took it home, cleaned it and did the F&B but have yet to fire it since.
Moe, you have much more patience than I would ever have since I would`ve demanded a refund after the 2nd misfiring gun.

DaStray, they offered me a refund, but like I said, I really wanted one that worked. Wishfull thinking I suppose. A glutton for punishment may be more accurate. My Glock ( any glock) is just too big for me to regularly carry.m
