i own a ruger p-95, and owned a p-40 which i bought for my carry gun, but was unhappy with it for the fact it would jam almost one bullet every clip.... i sold it and am now in the hunt for a good, very small .32 carry gun, and im stuck between the berreta tomcat or p-32, id liek to get the kel tec again cuz its lighter and holds more rounds, but i dont want a reliability issue since this will be the gun i always carry as long as the place permits it..thanks

Out-of-the-box reliability for the P-32s seems to be a hit or miss proposition, but almost 100% of them can be made fully reliable with minimal work (see the posts re: fluff and buff) or a trip back to the factory. Mine had a problem at first, but a quick trip back to K-T (I had to do without it for only 3 days) has made it function flawlessly. On the other hand, I have yet to hear about anyone who was pleased with the Tomcat. If you're really considering the Tomcat, consider stepping up to a .380, instead; you can find one about the same size and weight (even lighter) than the Tomcat.

Explore the posts on this board thoroughly and you will get a complete picture of the P-32 -- including the good, the bad, and the ugly. There is more than enough information here for you to make an informed decision.

I'm happy with my P-32.

I shot 200 rounds today showing my P-32 to a friend. It functioned flawlessly and he loved it. It has gone through about 500 rds w/o a mishap. My Glock 26 felt like a cannon when I shot it after firing the KT!!

I could be wrong here, but it seems like I'm hearing more good than bad out of the current production guns. In any event there is no end to my amazement at the customer service and commitment to the lifetime warranty that Kel-Tec provides! Definitely worth the small gamble.
