When you trade up to the chrome plate slide do they just plate over all the rough tool marks or do they buff them out before plating? I'm assuming I can't do a F&B on a plated slide so if this is the case I think I might stick with my blue one.

KT sends the best looking slides off to get plated. I have both the 40 and 32 in HC that look top notch for the money.

You can do a fluff & buff on chromed slides. The main object of the f&b is to polish the metal (knocking off the burrs) reducing friction, not removing too much metal. My chromed slide polished to a mirror-like finish where I could get a demel tool. And as stated above, KT sends the best slides out for plating.
