Got it yesterday, broke it down and gave it a light coating of lube. I bought a 50 round box of Silvertip ammo to see how it would digest the good personal defense stuff. I also got an extra Kel-Tec (Mec-Gar manuf.) mag. Took it to the range today and was absolutely blown away at what an easy shooting little gun it is. Sights are remarkably easy to pick up. DAO trigger pull is super light and smooth. And, for such a small pistol, there was NO bite from the trigger or slide. BTW, I have the blued slide with white dot-over-dot sights. Though, these aren't traditional sights, they're simply a notch in the rear and an elevated notch in the front. For pics see http://www.a-human-right.com/p32/mousegun.html (and go to the third page), which is a review that is posted on KTOG.org. At 7 yards it shot 2 inch groups (and I ain't even that good of a shot) to dead nuts point of aim. I was able to chase the bullet holes over a blank piece of carboard. Recoil is not even worth mentioning -- it's that easy to control. A 9mm makes the P32 seem like a squirt gun. And after running a 7+1 mag of Winchester 60 grain Silvertip HP's through it, I gained a new respect for these little "mouse guns." I sure as heck wouldn't want to be on the receiving end of 2 or 3 of those sucker in my center of mass!! And I've read in the recent Nov. 2000 issue of Gun World that "The Winchester 60 grain Silvertip expands to the largest recovered diameter of any jacketed hollowpoint in this caliber. The pure aluminum jacketed bullets expands very reliably." This in an article on the most effective .32 ACP rounds. It went on to say that "The 66% One Shot Stop from the 60 grain Silvertip is extremely contraversial. This street efectiveness from this .32 ACP load equals or exceeds the 9mm 115 grain FMJ, the .45 ACP 230 grain FMJ, an the .380 ACP 85 grain Silvertip." The author goes on to speculate that these shooting results were acheived by good shot placement from shooters who knew that, with the .32 ACP, they needed to make every shot count. "[P]erhaps the .32 ACP shooter is more precise in his fire as a way to make up for this lower power." (Author Cpl. Ed Sanow, Gun World, Nov. 2000, p. 25-31.) I ate everything without a hiccup, though there were 2 problems when loading. You have to have a pretty good "snap" when you release the slide. It's got such a short travel it need all the oomph it can get to strip off the first round (2X's loading from slide lock it took one more "pull and release" of the slide to chamber). NO problems at all when firing with a fully loaded (7) magazine and one in the chamber. I also think the mags might need to loosen up. It seems like the first and last rounds in autoloaders are the problems. First rounds burps (like I had here) tend to resolve themselves when the gun gets broken in. Needless to say, this is the BEST $280 ($260 P32 + $20 extra mag, tax and $10 FFL not included) that I have ever spent on a gun. Sure, at 7 yards my Wilson Combat .45 will drill one ragged hole, but that's 8" long and 2+ pounds when fully loaded (and it's %5X's more expensive). So, just so there no misunderstanding here, just let me say that I CANNOT BELIEVE WHAT AN INCREDIBLE LITTLE PISTOL THIS P32 IS. To think that I was actually considering a Beretta .22LR.... I would have to agree -- I just picked one up today as well, and had very similar results at the range. Shots at 7 and 10 yds within 1 - 2" when I did my part. I fed it all the leftover ammo that my Guardian spit out and it gobbled it up. I'm using silvertips for my carry round as well, and no feeding problems there. After reading the F & B instructions, I was anticipating some work to get it functioning, but this little pea shooter is great right out of the box. I'm converted. ------------------ |

Hey, I'm just passing on what I read. Yeah, I'd rather have my .45, but a .32 beats a pocket knife! ;) ------------------ |

But Reagan was not shot with a .32... "On March 30, using a .22 pistol, Hinckley shot at President Reagan as the president left the Washington Hilton. Hinckley wounded a District of Columbia police officer, a Secret Service agent, and Press Secretary James S. Brady. Other Secret Service agents pushed President Reagan into a waiting limousine and sped off without realizing that the president had also been shot." ------------------ |

My point was only that with all things being equal, if I had a choice, I would rather be hit with a .32 than a .40 S&W. Rick ------------------ |
