I have decided to purchase a P32 and would like to get the parkerized finish. But I've read (and seen pics) of the chrome slide and red sights. I'd prefer a "black" gun (hey, I come to you from AR15.com, after all:)) in a pocket pistol as I don't want it to be shiny. Are the white sights on the parkerized slide *that* difficult to use? Or are the white and red sights both actually varying degrees of difficult to use? And how does the parkerized slide stand up to pocket use (rust, wear, etc.).

What is the best holster to break up the pistols outline in your pocket? And do you even need one with this gun?

What is the best ammo to use? Any recommendations for practice versus defensive ammo? If they're both about the same price, I'll probably just shoot the defensive ammo.

Thanks, and I look forward to ordering and receiving my P32!

I just joined the club today. I picked up a P-32 (bargain basement blued job) It comes in this cardboard box with a cheesy looking nylon zipper pouch and a trigger lock. I wish they would have provided a spare magazine and dispensed with the nylon pouch. I have no idea what the pouch is for, the gun fits in it but so what? It's dorky!
Anyway, I have a Walther PP in 7.65mm and the P32 is superior in size (or lack thereof) and ease of carrying. I will post the results of my range trip when the two guns go in a head to head match,
Categories will be
Reliability
Accuracy
Comfort
I will have at least one other person shoot both guns so that we can assess accuracy based upon more than one persons impressions. So far I am really happy. I went to the gun shop looking to get a .25 ladies gun and actually like this much better. It is almost a serious defensive caliber when using Silvertips.

I just purchased the Blued one I get to pick it up next week cant wait! As for Pocked holsters Check out RJ hedley I have a link on my web page Nice Holsters bought one for my guardian and like it. Good Luck And the white dots look O.K. to me I tried my friends this weekend and worked great no problems seeing them. As long as you wipe it down when you take it out of your pocket with light coat of oil you should have no prob.

I purchased a basic blued P32 with white dot sights and just got my replacement hard chrome slide assembly with orange dot sights. The sights are rudimentary at best and the color doesn't matter. At the ranges the P32 is meant to be used, sights aren't all that important. Both sets of sights have been accurate (consistent center of mass and head shots) out to 10 yards for me personally.

I strongly recommend using a holster for pocket carry. This will keep the gun from becoming misaligned in your pocket and maintain a consistent grip placement. I use a RJ Hedley front pocket model on an almost daily basis and am very pleased with it. It keeps the gun from printing no matter what my choice of pants (jeans, dockers, walking or sweat shorts). Just looks like I'm carrying a wallet in my pocket if the outline shows and the outline doesn't even show most of the time in pants other than jeans.

Regarding ammo...for practice I've shot Fiochhi, CCI Blazer, UMC, PMC, and Magtech. All are 71gr ball and all work flawlessly. Magtech seems to be the most accurate but they're all close enough that it doesn't matter. For practice I shoot whatever is cheapest. Since everything appears to work, I'll be doing a bulk order off the net in the near future. My experience with ammo for serious social situations has been with Winchester Silver tips, Speer GoldDots and Federal Hyrda-Shoks. I've shot about a hundred rounds of Silver tips and 20 each of the Speer and Federal. All were 100% reliable and my best group out of the hard chrome gun was with the Speer. The Silver tips and Federal were close. I want to try some Fiochhi and CorBon because the print data I've seen says that they are both hotter than the three I've tried. For now, I will use the Silver tips for regular carry. They have the longest and most successful track record in actual shootings, seem to be very reliable, and are cheapest HP to buy. The more I can afford to buy the more I can practice with them.

I think you'll really enjoy your P32. I have a low threat lifestyle and carry "just in case". I find myself leaving my Glocks and S&W at home and carrying my P32 more and more because of its size, weight and concealability. It also helps that I can shoot this little gun pretty darn well and have confidence in my ability with it. While no one will ever accuse me of being "over gunned" with the P32...if it ever comes down to it, at least I'll be "gunned". After all, the first rule of gunfighting is, "Have a gun!"

Good shooting and stay safe.

Ditto what Webfoot said.

Also, if you do not like the white dot front sight, place a drop of neon orange on top of it. I can pick up the orange in most light conditions better than the white and you can pick up a small jar of the paint at Wallyworld.
