I spoke to Cliff at Kel Tec yesterday about the battering the front of the rails and the use of heaver springs. Of course, without seeing the gun he couldn't tell if what I was seeing was normal. He also said all new guns are shipped with the new springs and the use of the heavier Wolff springs were in his opinion not necessary. I have to agree. I also asked him about using Cor Bon ammo with the stock springs. "No problem, just not a steady diet of them." The gun has functioned 100% in the hundred+ rounds fired since new. If a heavier spring stops the rails from hitting the slide, the spent case may not eject. The shell are thrown clear when the slide is within a 1/4" of hitting the rails on the lower. That's too much fine tuning for a pocket pistol. I bet if you guy's look at the front of the rails in your p-32 you will see the same battering I have in mine. It is not excessive. The design of the gun is what causes it. I looked at several other types pistols and all of them have a large flat area on the lower to collide with the upper. Take a look at your P-32 and let me know what you see. Rick ------------------ |
