Picked up one of these dinky little things over the weekend. First range session didn't go so well. Light hits on PMC and Silvertip ammo, so I have failed to get even one round to fire. There is a tiny indentation on the primer, so I am at least making contact.

I am lubing and cleaning and trying again. But so far I am not amused. The SN is in the 22,000 range, so I thought they had the bugs worked out by now.

The P32 is not, so far, the best thing since sliced bread.

Any suggestions?

Send it back to Kel-Tec. It will come back
100%. Also the Hard Chrome modification is great and only $20.

Don't give up hope! It's a great little pocket gun....mine loves the Silvertips. Not one malfunction using them.

I have to agree with Mike. Don't have any personal experience but people who do swear by KelTec's customer service. I'm sending mine in for the hard chrome and recommend that, too.

My P32 was a little unreliable the first time I fired it right out of the box with no cleaning or lubing. Has been 100% after a good cleaning...have about 500 rounds through it. I love this gun for carry when my Glock won't work.

Hope everything works out.

OK, it's in the mail. I didn't ask for the chrome job since I hesitate to put money into a gun that doesn't work. Everyone seems to think the P-32 can be a bit iffy, but Kel-Tec's customer service will make it right and PDQ at that.

So we'll see, with baited breath and fingers crossed.

Chairborne,

I'd be interested to know how things finally come out. Also, got a good chuckle out of your name.

I bought a P32 earlier this year (although I'm curious as to how I got a SN of 01xxx when they're in the 20xxxs now...). It has exhibited the following endearing characteristics during ammo tests:

- Frequent failure to feed with various ammo
- Rim lock in the mag on the new Corbon ammo, which jams the slide open
- Barrel retention pin works its way out
- Slide locks up after a failure to fire
- Some failures to extract
- Various ammo groups low, high, left, right, or some combination.
- And most recently, failure to fire with various ammo due to light primer strikes

Hoped some of this would go away as the gun broke in, but the problems have become MORE frequent. Even as a long-time IPSC shooter who builds his own 1911s, I can't figure out why the problems are occuring.

I realize some folks get guns that run flawlessly, but they're apparently the lucky ones. Keltec gun problems seem to resemble the ParaOrdnance quality problems -- some guns are great right out of the box, others need hundreds of dollars of custom work or many trips back to the manufacturer to make them work properly.

Sure, Keltec claims theyll fix it -- but with the new UPS price gouging, $25 to ship an early gun (from what seems to be a run of lemons that are NEVER going to work right) back and forth a few times isn't very appealing.

Too bad, too -- if this little gun worked right, I could really get to love it...

The answer to total satisfaction is send it back. The gun is fantastic when given the individual attention of the Kel-Tec gunsmith.
I had a few problems also. When I got it back it is 100%. Not a single problem in about 500 rounds.

Well I have to say without shooting the allegedly "fixed" P32 I am impressed. I put it in "regular" mail Wednesday morning one week ago. Today I get home from work to find a notice from UPS that they tried to deliver it. Six day turnaround? They must have had the pistol for literally one or two days.

As soon as I can coordinate with the gun control collaborationists driving the brown trucks I will report whether the Kel-Tec smiths worked their magic.

OK, I am sold on Kel-Tec. They did sell me a non-working gun, but I got it back from the factory VERY quickly, took it out this a.m. and put a box of PMC ball through it and half a box of Silvertips with nary a hangup. It shoots a little low, but not so low I can't reliably hit a 2 liter bottle at 15 yards.

I add to the chorus. Send the lemon back to Kel-Tec and they'll send you lemonade. If you're lucky maybe you'll get the lemonade straight out of the box.
